Most celebrities often struggle with particular addictions, especially drug addictions, and Quinn Edgar’s father is no exception. While at the peak of his career, Gregory struggled with cocaine addiction. He had to use it to be able to perform, and if things continued that way, his acting career would have gone down the drain. As such, Quinn’s father sought help at the Betty Ford Center, and after a few months, he was able to overcome his cocaine addiction.
His Father’s Career
Quinn Edgar’s father started his acting career in the early 1970s; however, it was not until the late 1970s that he gained national recognition. Following this success, he landed a role in the series Logan’s Run, where he portrayed the titular character. In 1978, Gregory portrayed Levi Zendt in the miniseries Centennial. The following year, Quinn’s father was cast as Dr. George Gates in the medical drama Trapper John, M.D. While playing the role of Dr. George, Quinn’s father became a fan favorite, and he continued appearing on the show until its seventh season.
Gregory did not stay in the show Trapper John, M.D, but left to look for other acting prospects. In the early 1980s, while still in the medical drama, Quinn’s father appeared in the film For Ladies Only as a stripper, but this role made him a fan favorite for only gay men and women. In the 1990s, years after overcoming his cocaine addiction, Quinn’s father joined Sisters, playing the role of Daniel Albright. Despite having had the challenge of drug addiction, Quinn’s father has had a beautiful and great acting career, and hopefully, we will continue seeing him grace our television screens for years to come.
